Residential Care background? Teaching Personnel needs you!

Are you currently working in a Residential Care Setting? Are you thinking the time may be right for a change, possibly a new challenge in a Primary School Setting?

If you are possibly looking at other options in terms of your employment then Teaching Personnel may be able to aid you in finding the right position. In recent months, we have recruited a number of high quality members of staff who have previously worked with children and/or adults who have a range of complex needs.

Local primary schools are seeking support workers with a care background to support the learning and development of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. The support they required for the individual children ranged from diagnosed Autism, ADHD, Aspergers, Complex and Medical Needs as well as Personal Care. They are seeking to appoint members of staff who have a bright and bubbly personality which added to the full package, when you consider the range of de-escalation techniques, he had acquired from his time spent working with vulnerable individuals.

The majority of staff joining us from care backgrounds tend to have a full 4 week notice period, this should not be something to put you off applying to work with Teaching Personnel. Schools are very keen to give the right candidate enough time to complete a contract with their current employer and in doing so offering them a contract through Teaching Personnel from a date they are happy with. Schools are now opening the recruitment search to individuals with transferable skills and not necessarily candidates who have recent school based experience. As long as you are prepared to get stuck in, liaise with parents and Senior Leaders and do everything you can to develop the learning opportunities for a child in school, you will be a success in a Primary School setting.

Additional to the contracted work through Teaching Personnel, you will also have access to a range of professional development courses delivered by local client schools. This will give you the opportunity to continually move forward in your subject knowledge and ‘know how’ of the Curriculum – All at subsidised rates!

As well, you will be given support from a range of consultants who work in the Merseyside location at Teaching Personnel. All the consultants are happy to give advice based on prior knowledge, with 90% of staff having previously worked in school as class teachers, sports coaches, and SEN TAs.
