Job Description: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential support to students with SEN within our school settings. Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Assisting students with learning tasks, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum and educational resources.
  2. Providing one-on-one support to students with specific learning needs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve academic progress.
  3. Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and create a personalized learning experience for each student.
  4. Supporting students in developing social and emotional skills, fostering positive relationships within the school community.
  5. Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  6. Encouraging and promoting independence and self-confidence among students with SEN.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN is advantageous but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting young learners with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, teachers, and parents effectively.
  • The ability to adapt and be flexible in responding to the individual needs of students.
  • A passion for fostering the academic and personal development of students with SEN.
