Join Our Team as behaviour mentor based in Merthyr!

 

  • £12.90 Per hour £83.85 per day
  • Merthyr based.
  • Monday- Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm

 

We are looking for Resilient, enthusiastic, and dedicated Behaviour Mentor’s required to work alongside a school in Dowlais, Merthyr.

The school works with young people within KS2 who are unable to attend school due to exclusion, medical needs or because they have a diagnosis of mental health issues. Some young people are also on the autistic spectrum.

 

The school caters for children between the ages of 7-11 who cannot attend mainstream school due to medical needs or anxiety and social emotional, and mental health (SEMH)

 

As a Behaviour Lead in this school, you will be:

  • Encouraging and motivating students to be engaged in their learning. 
  • Developing behaviour plans
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups 
  • Reacting to challenging situations within the school environment, de-escalating behaviours and using physical restraint where necessary.
  • Working alongside a team of other supportive Behaviour Mentors 

 

This is a permanent opportunity starting ASAP ready for September 2024. 

 

We are looking for someone who can relate to the students whilst maintaining professional working relationships. The successful candidate must also:

  • Be a very experienced TA/HLTA looking for the next step in your career OR have experience in a similar role.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and experience working with young people who have similar needs.
  • Be confident, resilient, and adaptable.
  • Reliable and organised
