Position Overview: We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing tailored support to a specific student with special educational needs, helping them to thrive academically and personally. If you are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a designated student with special educational needs, providing individualized support to help them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and the SENCO to implement personalized education plans and adapt teaching strategies to meet the student's needs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the student's social and emotional well-being as well as their academic progress.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and other relevant staff members as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing updates on the student's progress and involving them in the educational process.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of the student.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • A patient and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education or child development would be advantageous.
