We are looking for a Young People’s Support Assistant to work closely with learners in an additional learning needs school in Ystrad Myanch.

Role:
We are looking for a Young Person’s Support Assistant to work with 5 KS4 learners in class both one on one and in small groups. The learners have a range of additional needs including Autism, Behavioural Needs, Speech and Language Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. We are looking for a Young Person’s Support Assistant that has experience supporting people with complex behavioural needs and that is unfazed by challenging behaviour. Team Teach Training is not essential however highly desirable.
As a Young Person’s Support Assistant you are there to bridge the gap between teacher and student. You will work in class with learners supporting them throughout the lessons ran by the class teacher and helping them work through the curriculum. You will provide planning support to the teacher and collect/ create classroom materials and ensure the classroom is a safe learning environment.
Requirements
Must hold an enhanced DBS registered with the update service
Must register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
Must provide 2 employment references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
