Are you a passionate and engaging Year 6 Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll inspire and support pupils to achieve their full potential through engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Teach Year 6 pupils across a range of abilities, supporting them to develop their knowledge, skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Prepare pupils effectively for their SATs, ensuring they develop a strong understanding of key concepts across the curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across core subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, and other areas of the Year 6 curriculum.
  • Encourage pupils to think critically, solve problems, communicate effectively, and apply their learning to a range of contexts.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development and attainment.
  • Identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate support, challenge, and intervention to ensure all pupils make progress.
  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, participation, and a love of learning.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, effort, and respect within the classroom.
  • Support pupils in developing the confidence, resilience, and independence needed for a successful transition to secondary school.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to planning, resources, enrichment activities, school events, and wider school initiatives where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and Year 6 expectations.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive lessons.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to inspiring pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Experience preparing pupils for SATs is desirable.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and create a supportive learning environment.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification is desirable.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
