We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Ely, Cardiff, seeking a resilient and passionate Year 6 Teacher to join their team from September.

This role is ideal for someone confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, and additional learning needs (ALN). The class requires a strong, consistent presence and a teacher who can build trust, set clear boundaries, and create a calm, structured learning environment.

You will play a key role in preparing pupils for transition to secondary school, both academically and emotionally.


  • Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to mixed abilities
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (SEMH)
  • Using de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour management daily
  • Working closely with TAs, ALNCo, and external agencies
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families, and staff
  • Creating a safe, predictable, and nurturing classroom environment

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience with challenging behaviour / SEMH / ALN (highly desirable)
  • Strong behaviour management and resilience
  • Calm, patient, and consistent approach
  • Ability to engage disengaged learners and build rapport quickly
  • ECTs welcome if confident and well-supported
