About the Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition into their final year of primary education. You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire learners while fostering a classroom environment where every child feels supported, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.
• Monitor, assess and track pupil progress to ensure strong academic outcomes.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and staff to enhance learning opportunities.
• Prepare pupils for end-of-year assessments and a successful transition into Year 6.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and ongoing school improvement initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 5 experience desirable.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Have a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective assessment practices.
• Be able to adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
• Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Be passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
