Academics is recruiting a Year 5 and Year 6 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for temporary, flexible ongoing supply opportunities across primary schools in Doncaster. This role is ideal for a confident and experienced HLTA who enjoys supporting pupils in their final years of primary education and helping them prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Position: Year 5 and Year 6 Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £100 - £140 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP or a date that suits you

About the Role

As a Year 5 and Year 6 Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will support teaching and learning across upper Key Stage 2. You may lead lessons during teacher absence, deliver targeted interventions and help pupils develop the skills and confidence needed for SATs and the transition to secondary school. Opportunities may be available across a variety of primary schools in Doncaster.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering planned lessons and activities across Year 5 and Year 6
• Supporting pupils with English, maths and SATs preparation
• Leading small-group interventions and providing additional learning support
• Maintaining positive behaviour and an engaging learning environment
• Working closely with teachers to support progress and pupil wellbeing

Candidate Requirements

• HLTA status or relevant higher-level teaching assistant qualification and experience
• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a primary school, ideally across upper Key Stage 2
• Confidence leading lessons and managing a classroom
• Strong communication, organisation and behaviour-management skills
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
