Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Manchester (M40)
An Oldham-based Catholic primary school, last rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, are working in correspondence with Teaching Personnel in search for a Teaching Assistant to work with their Year 3 class. The school has a mixture of single form and mixed year group classes, but the successful Teaching Assistant would be working with their single-form Year 3 class. The TA would be expected to patiently support pupils who are still negotiating the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
Upon registering with Teaching Personnel, the Teaching Assistant would be able to begin earning immediately on a timesheet basis.
This school does not require experience with EAL or SEN students, but the successful TA will be familiar with the appropriate safeguarding practices and behaviour strategies. TAs must be comfortable working closely with children and helping them boost their academic attainment, alongside their social and emotional development. This role is a full-time opportunity with a work pattern of 32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
About the role:
The successful Teaching Assistant will be required to aid pupils with basic core subject knowledge in Maths, Reading and Writing, with a focus on phonics. This role also provides opportunities working with pupils on a more concentrated small-group basis to boost attainment. Ideally, the school are looking for candidates with previous experience in either Key Stage 1 or 2, with previous experience of performing intervention based focused activities.
