Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Cardiff seeking a proactive, caring and committed Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time.

This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a consistent and trusted adult for a class of children who thrive with positive relationships, structure and encouragement.

Working closely alongside the Year 2 class teacher, you will:

  • Support learning across the classroom through engaging and creative activities.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and work with small groups to help children reach their potential.
  • Provide emotional reassurance and consistency for pupils with a range of social and emotional needs.
  • Build positive relationships with children, helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
  • Use your initiative to adapt to the needs of the classroom and support behaviour positively.

✔ Experienced as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a primary school.
✔ Passionate about supporting children's emotional wellbeing as well as their academic progress.
✔ Calm, patient and resilient, with excellent relationship-building skills.
✔ Proactive and able to use their own initiative throughout the school day.
✔ Looking to build a long-term career within education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
