About the Role

As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in helping pupils develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed for future success. You will deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity, encourage independence, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that enables all pupils to succeed.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data effectively to inform planning and raise attainment.
• Support pupils in preparing for a smooth and successful transition into Key Stage 2.
• Promote pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to achieve the best possible outcomes for pupils.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and attendance.
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school and participate in professional development opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with Year 2 experience desirable.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that motivate and challenge learners.
• Be confident in differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and supporting pupil wellbeing.
• Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for primary education.
