Role Details:
Here at Academics, we are proud to be working with this fantastic two-form entry primary school in Hammersmith, which is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher from October 2026. This is an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity for a teacher looking to join a welcoming school and establish themselves within a supportive and collaborative team.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality teaching and learning while helping pupils develop the confidence, independence and core skills they need as they progress through Key Stage 1.
The school is well resourced and places a strong emphasis on pupil wellbeing, inclusion and academic achievement. Senior leaders are supportive and approachable, working closely with staff to maintain a positive school environment and ensure teachers are well supported in their roles.
As a two-form entry school, teachers benefit from working closely with their parallel class teacher, allowing for shared planning, collaboration and the development of consistent approaches to teaching and learning. The school also provides regular CPD opportunities and encourages staff to share ideas and develop their practice.
The successful Year 1 Class Teacher will be expected to plan and deliver engaging, creative and well-structured lessons across the Year 1 curriculum, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners. You will play an important role in supporting pupils' transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1, while developing their early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics skills.
Experience teaching in KS1 or EYFS would be advantageous, although applications are welcomed from teachers with broader primary experience who are confident in adapting their practice to meet the needs of Year 1 pupils.
This role would suit a teacher who is enthusiastic, reflective and committed to creating a positive classroom environment, with high expectations for behaviour, learning and pupil progress.
