We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner who is committed to helping children achieve their full potential during this important stage of their educational journey.

The successful candidate will create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and inspired to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

Salary: £120 - £150 per day
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: Monday 2nd November OR Monday 4th January 2027

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes a love of learning.
  • Support pupils' transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.
  • Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, providing timely feedback and intervention where necessary.
  • Establish high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1.
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and Year 1 Phonics Screening requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young learners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
