The Role

As the Year 1 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils as they transition through Key Stage 1, helping to build strong foundations in learning, confidence, and independence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, creative lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils can succeed
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes
  • Providing effective feedback to support learning and development
  • Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of individual learners
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high standards within the classroom
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and support staff
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through events, initiatives, and enrichment activities
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be confident using technology to enhance teaching and learning
  • Show a proactive, organised, and positive approach to education
  • Be passionate about helping every child reach their full potential
