Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher seeking a part-time position within the education and training environment?

We are currently working with a well-regarded primary school in Berkhamsted that is looking to appoint a committed Year 1 Class Teacher.

The successful Year 1 Class Teacher will join a collaborative school community where pupil wellbeing, achievement and personal development are highly valued. You will have the opportunity to create engaging learning experiences and provide pupils with the strong foundations they need as they progress through their education.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across the Year 1 curriculum
• Plan creative and engaging lessons that inspire pupils
• Establish a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom
• Identify and respond effectively to individual learning needs
• Assess and track pupil progress in the education and training environment
• Provide appropriate challenge and support
• Work closely with colleagues and support staff
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers
• Contribute positively to the wider school community

About You

You will ideally have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Previous Key Stage 1 teaching experience
• Year 1 experience is highly desirable
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Strong planning and organisational abilities
• A child-centred approach to teaching
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine commitment to supporting young learners
• The ability to commute to Berkhamsted
