Teaching Personnel are currently looking to appoint a teaching assistant on a long-term basis (at least one term) to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in Y3 who has funded support for their learning needs and behaviour.

As the successful candidate, you would be supporting a pupil who is very polite and hard working, but does need strict routines as it can affect their behaviour. The school are looking for an experienced practitioner who can comfortably use a range of behaviour management techniques and learning aids such as PECs cards and basic Makaton.

The school has recently received a GOOD Ofsted grading in a full inspection- With the behaviour of the children and leadership being mentioned as the driving force behind the high standards of attainment in school. The school is located within a challenging catchment area, and the majority of children do arrive at school working below expected levels. There are also a number of children in school who come from Urdu and Punjabi backgrounds so it would be preferable to have a successful candidate who can speak a variety of languages.

The role is to start as soon from April 2024 and will continue, longer term. There is the possibility that the successful candidate will then be needed further after this. In the past, the school have used the agency to shortlist, appoint and then contract on a temp to perm basis.
