This role is ideal for qualified teachers, experienced tutors, and SEND practitioners seeking flexible teaching opportunities where they can make a meaningful impact. Sessions will be delivered face-to-face in pupils' homes, schools, and alternative education settings.

You will support learners who need help catching up with their studies, preparing for examinations, developing essential skills, or accessing education suited to their individual needs.

About the Role

You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to each pupil's abilities, educational targets, and learning style. Assignments may involve Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, SEND, Home Tuition, and Alternative Provision.

Subjects We Cover

We are interested in educators with expertise in one or more of the following:

  • English, Maths and Science
  • Primary education and the National Curriculum
  • GCSE subjects and examination preparation
  • Functional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy
  • Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages
  • Computing and Creative Arts
  • Other relevant curriculum subjects

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver structured, engaging one-to-one teaching sessions.
  • Prepare suitable lesson plans and learning materials.
  • Track progress and provide regular feedback on pupil development.

  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, schools, and relevant professionals.
  • Maintain accurate tuition records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Understanding of Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, or SEND education.
  • Effective communication, planning, assessment, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to travel reliably to assignments across Daventry and nearby locations.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

A QTS, PGCE, or other recognised teaching qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.

Desirable Experience

We particularly welcome applicants who have supported learners with SEND, including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, dyslexia, speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), EHCPs, emotional or behavioural difficulties, and disrupted education. Experience in Home Tuition or Alternative Provision is also beneficial.
