Make a Difference Through One-to-One Tuition

TP Tutors is looking for passionate and experienced Teachers, Tutors and SEND Educators to provide personalised one-to-one tuition to children and young people across Northampton and surrounding areas.

Tuition may take place in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative education settings during school hours. You could support learners with additional academic needs, exam preparation, gaps in education, or specialist SEND requirements.

Whether you're a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or SEND specialist, this is an opportunity to use your expertise to build confidence, overcome barriers, and help learners reach their potential.

The Role

You will deliver engaging, personalised lessons tailored to each learner's individual needs. You may support pupils across:

  • Primary and Secondary education
  • GCSE and Functional Skills
  • Alternative Provision
  • SEND and EHCP support

You'll adapt your teaching approach to suit different abilities, learning styles, and educational needs while helping learners make meaningful academic progress.

Subjects

We welcome tutors who can teach one or more of:

English • Mathematics • Science • Literacy & Numeracy • Functional Skills • Primary Curriculum • GCSE Subjects • Humanities • Modern Foreign Languages • Computing • Creative Arts • Other National Curriculum Subjects

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition tailored to individual needs.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that support progress.
  • Assess learning and provide clear feedback after sessions.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to different abilities and learning styles.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, schools, and professionals.
  • Support learners to develop academic skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of two years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Experience in Primary, Secondary, GCSE, Functional Skills, or SEND education.
  • Strong lesson planning, assessment, communication, and behaviour management skills.
  • Reliable travel across Northampton and surrounding areas.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • QTS, PGCE, or another recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting learners with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, Dyslexia, SLCN, EHCPs, Alternative Provision, home tuition, or gaps in education is highly desirable.
