Location: Corby and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, part-time, Monday to Friday, mainly school hours

About the Role

TP Tutors is looking for experienced 1:1 Tutors to support children and young people across Corby and surrounding areas.

You will provide personalised tuition to learners who may require additional academic support, have difficulty accessing mainstream education, or have SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

Learners may be at Primary, Secondary or GCSE level, with tuition generally following the UK National Curriculum. Sessions may take place in learners' homes, schools, community settings or alternative education provisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, personalised one-to-one lessons.
• Follow the UK National Curriculum and individual learning targets.
• Adapt lessons, resources and teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Support learners with SEND, SEMH needs and EHCPs.
• Use creative approaches to improve confidence, motivation and engagement.
• Encourage learners to develop independence.
• Manage behaviour calmly and positively.
• Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback.
• Complete clear and accurate lesson reports.
• Build positive relationships with learners, parents and carers.
• Work collaboratively with schools, Local Authorities and education professionals.
• Maintain a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• At least 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience delivering the UK National Curriculum.
• Experience in Primary, Secondary, GCSE or SEND settings is desirable.
• Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
• Patience, flexibility and the ability to adapt your teaching approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• QTS or another recognised teaching qualification is preferred but not essential.

SEND Experience

Experience supporting learners with SEND or SEMH needs is an advantage, including:

• Autism
• ADHD
• Dyslexia
• SEMH needs
• Speech and language difficulties
• EHCPs
• Other additional learning needs

You should be confident adapting lessons and teaching strategies to support individual learners.
