Job Title: 1:1 Secondary Tutors / Functional Skills Tutors
Location: Northamptonshire (including Northampton, Daventry, Towcester, Wellingborough, Kettering, and Corby)
Hours: School hours (flexible)
Contract Type: Part-time / Flexible

About the Role:
We are currently recruiting dedicated and experienced 1:1 Secondary Tutors and Functional Skills Tutors to support pupils across Northamptonshire. This role involves delivering personalised, one-to-one sessions either in pupils' homes or within school settings during school hours.

You will be working with students who may require additional support, including those with SEND, SEMH needs, or those currently outside of mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons aligned with individual learning needs
  • Support students in secondary subjects and/or Functional Skills (English and Maths)
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities and learning styles
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent, or at least 2 years' UK teaching experience
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students
  • Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and/or Functional Skills framework
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Experience working with SEND and/or SEMH pupils
  • PGCE or relevant teaching qualification
