We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in either their home or school setting during school hours. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.
You will work closely with pupils who may require additional support due to a range of needs, helping them to engage with learning in a personalised and supportive environment.
- Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions aligned with the pupil's individual learning plan
- Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or other areas as required
- Build positive, trusting relationships to support engagement and confidence
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs (including SEN where applicable)
- Provide feedback on progress and maintain session records
- Liaise with parents, schools, and other professionals where necessary
- Experience working with children or young people (tutoring, teaching, or support work)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant qualifications (teaching, tutoring, or subject-specific) are desirable but not essential
- Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Teaching qualification (QTS) or equivalent
- Background in education, youth work, or mentoring
