A thriving and larger-than-average primary school in Tuebrook is looking to appoint a Trainee Teaching Assistant to support learning within a Key Stage 2 classroom. Following the successful development of several trainee teaching assistants over recent years, the school is keen to welcome another enthusiastic individual who is looking to begin or further their career in education.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently studying, or considering studying, a Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or Childcare qualification while gaining valuable classroom experience in a supportive school environment.

About the Role

As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day. You will help create a positive and engaging learning environment, assist with classroom activities, and encourage pupils to become confident, independent learners.

The role involves supporting children across a range of curriculum subjects, including English, Maths, and Science, while helping to maintain high standards of behaviour and pupil engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with learning activities and classroom tasks.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
  • Encourage independence and confidence in learners.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.
  • Support behaviour management and report any concerns to the class teacher.
  • Help pupils understand instructions and complete assigned work.
  • Provide curriculum support across a range of subjects.
  • Supervise pupils during lunchtime and welfare duties.
  • Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, equality, and data protection policies at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • A genuine interest in working with children and supporting education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Currently studying, or interested in pursuing, a TA, CACHE, or Childcare qualification.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Role Details

  • Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Includes: 30-minute welfare/lunchtime duty
  • Location: Tuebrook, L13
  • Pay: £14.25 - £15.00 per hour
  • Start Date: October 2026
