Salary: £11.85 - £12.50 Per hour

  • Assist the teaching staff in delivering lessons and educational activities
  • Support students with their learning, providing guidance and encouragement
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supervise students during class time, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching materials
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with additional needs
  • Help to maintain discipline and manage behaviour in accordance with school policies
  • Assist in assessing and recording students' progress and achievements
  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff members to ensure effective teamwork
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics

No prior experience required. However, any experience working with children or in an educational setting would be advantageous.

  • Basic knowledge of teaching methods and learning strategies
  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques
  • Understanding of the diverse needs of students
  • Proficiency in using basic computer software and educational technology
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • First Aid certification
  • Additional relevant qualifications in education or child development

The trainee teaching assistant will primarily work within a school setting, assisting in classrooms and other educational spaces. The role involves working closely with students, teachers, and other staff members. The work schedule is full-time and the position is temporary in nature. The trainee teaching assistant may be required to adapt to different learning environments and support students with a range of abilities and needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
