Trainee Classroom Assistant

Teaching Personnel are excited to advertise on behalf of a popular secondary school in Newport. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual for the role of Trainee Classroom Assistant.

In the position of a Trainee Classroom Assistant, you will play a crucial role within the classroom structure. You will be working closely with the teacher to deliver engaging lessons and provide invaluable support to students in their educational journey. This role will give you the opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives by aiding them in their academic growth.

The ideal candidate for this role must have prior experience, personal or professional, supporting children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the teacher in their duties, including the preparation and delivery of innovative and enriching lessons.
• Provide a high level of support to students during lessons and at other times as needed. This may involve one-to-one support or group interventions.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment, fostering a culture of respect and encouraging student participation.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children is a must for this role. This could be in a school setting, youth work, coaching, or similar environments.
• Possessing strong communication skills and patience are key to succeed in this role. You will need to convey information effectively and manage student behaviour.
• The ability to work well in a team is crucial, as you will be collaborating with various members of staff to provide the best support for our students.

The salary for this position is competitive at £12.90 - £14.00 per hour. This is a term-time only position, with working hours from 08:30 - 15:30, allowing for a good work-life balance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
