Are you a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's educational journey?

We are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the FY6 area seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs on a full-time basis.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives on building positive relationships and helping children overcome barriers to learning.

  • Provide 1:1 and classroom-based support for a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment.
  • Support the pupil's emotional regulation and engagement in lessons.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour strategies and encourage independence.
  • Help the pupil access learning and achieve their full potential academically and socially.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs or additional learning needs.
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach.
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience within a school, alternative provision, youth work, residential care or similar setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
  • A supportive and inclusive school environment.
