Are you a passionate and supportive Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a key role in supporting students' learning, development, and wellbeing while helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students, helping them to develop their academic, social, and emotional skills.
  • Support students across a range of abilities, adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assist students with their classwork, encouraging independence, confidence, and active participation in learning.
  • Support students with additional needs, including SEN, where appropriate, in line with individual support plans and EHCP targets.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to monitor and support students' progress.
  • Help create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and respect within the classroom and throughout the school.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, displays, and learning materials where required.
  • Provide pastoral and emotional support to students, helping them develop positive relationships and confidence.
  • Supervise students during lessons, break times, lunchtimes, trips, and other school activities where required.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, childcare, or support setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • The ability to support students of different abilities and adapt to their individual needs.
  • A patient, caring, and encouraging approach to working with children.
  • Good classroom management and behaviour support skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
