About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you’ll play an important role in supporting pupils’ learning, development, confidence, and wellbeing across the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and effective lessons.
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help develop their knowledge, confidence, and independence.
- Assist pupils with their literacy, numeracy, reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities, adapting activities where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation within the classroom.
- Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
- Monitor and provide feedback on pupils’ progress and engagement to the class teacher.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Assist with classroom preparation, displays, learning resources, and wider school activities where required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
