Position: Teaching Assistant

 

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other members of the support team to help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

You will provide both academic and pastoral support, helping pupils build confidence and develop their skills throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting pupils during lessons and classroom activities
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support
  • Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom engagement
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
  • Supporting children's social and emotional development
  • Preparing classroom resources and learning materials
  • Assisting teachers with everyday classroom organisation
  • Creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

 

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about working with children and young people
  • Patient, caring and approachable
  • Confident in building positive relationships
  • Reliable and adaptable
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Committed to supporting children's education and wellbeing
  • Experienced in schools, nurseries, childcare or youth work (desirable but not essential)

 

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one
  • EWC Registration, or willingness to apply
  • The right to work in the UK
