Teaching Personnel are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Key Stage 2 at a primary school in Penarth.

The pupil requires additional support with autism, communication and social interaction, and the school is looking for someone who can provide consistency while helping them become more confident and independent.

  • Providing 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Helping the pupil access the curriculum
  • Supporting communication and interaction with peers
  • Using appropriate strategies to encourage engagement
  • Helping with transitions between lessons and activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation when required
  • Encouraging independence rather than creating reliance
  • Working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo
  • Experienced working with children with autism or similar ALN
  • Patient and consistent
  • Confident managing challenging situations
  • A strong communicator
  • Comfortable adapting your approach to suit an individual pupil
