Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £92.63 per day

As a Teaching Assistant within an ALN Base, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs access learning, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes. The role will involve providing both one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils engage with tailored learning activities and supporting their academic, social, emotional, and communication development. You will play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where every pupil feels valued and supported. Working as part of a dedicated school team, you will contribute to a positive learning environment that promotes inclusion, confidence, engagement, and personal development.

  • Support the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and developmental goals.
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Assist pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Implement strategies and interventions identified within pupils' Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Help monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
  • Promote confidence, resilience, and independence in pupils.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with Additional Learning Needs.
  • Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to supporting pupils' development.
  • Can confidently support learners with a variety of needs and abilities.
  • Has a calm, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with staff, pupils, and families.
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Is available to commit to a full-time, long-term position.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration as a Teaching Assistant, or willingness to apply.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
