Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, you will help create a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to develop their independence, communication skills, and overall wellbeing, no matter how small the achievement.

The Role:

• Support pupils with complex learning difficulties and additional needs throughout the school day.
• Assist with personalised learning activities tailored to individual abilities and developmental stages.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory engagement, and social interaction.
• Work alongside teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver holistic support.
• Help pupils access a broad and engaging curriculum through creative and practical learning experiences.
• Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Support pupils with personal care and mobility needs where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
• A compassionate, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A willingness to support pupils with personal care requirements.
• The ability to celebrate small steps of progress and recognise individual achievements.
• A genuine passion for supporting individuals with complex needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
