We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to provide personalised support to pupils throughout the school day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.

• Supporting children to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.

• Assisting pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.

• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.

• Supporting pupils with communication, concentration and engagement.

• Implementing individual support strategies and learning plans.

• Promoting positive behaviour through consistent and supportive approaches.

• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, parents and external professionals.

• Creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all pupils.

The successful candidate will be patient, reliable and passionate about working with children who require additional support.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.

• Understands the importance of individualised support and inclusive education.

• Has a calm, patient and nurturing approach.

• Is confident building positive relationships with pupils.

• Can respond effectively to challenging situations.

• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Is adaptable and willing to learn.

• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Previous experience in a school, SEN provision, childcare, care or youth setting would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
