Full-Time | FY1 Area | Start After October Half Term Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the FY1 area to recruit an experienced and confident Phonics Support Assistant to join their Key Stage 1 team on a full-time basis after the October half term.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting early reading development and helping children build strong foundations in literacy.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pupils across KS1, delivering targeted phonics interventions and supporting children to develop their reading, decoding, and comprehension skills. You will work with small groups and individual pupils, helping to boost confidence and accelerate progress.

  • Has previous experience supporting phonics within a primary school setting.
  • Is confident delivering recognised phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Letters and Sounds.
  • Has experience working with KS1 pupils.
  • Can build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to raising attainment.
  • Holds relevant school-based experience and a passion for education.
  • Deliver structured phonics interventions to small groups and individual pupils.
  • Support classroom teaching and learning across KS1.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Encourage engagement, confidence, and a love of reading.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet pupils' learning needs.
