Location: Vale of Glamorgan
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £92.63 per day

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan for a long-term position from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils during their final year of primary education as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. Working alongside the class teacher and wider school staff, you will help create a positive and engaging learning environment where every pupil feels supported to achieve their full potential.

You will provide classroom support, work with small groups and individual pupils, and assist with targeted interventions to help raise attainment and build confidence. Working closely with the class teacher, ALNCO and other support staff, you will play a key role in ensuring all pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), receive the support they need to succeed.

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and improve confidence.

  • Provide targeted support for pupils preparing for the end of Key Stage 2.

  • Assist pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), adapting support to meet individual requirements.

  • Promote positive behaviour and help create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment.

  • Support the assessment of pupils' progress by providing feedback to the class teacher.

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to support both academic achievement and personal development.

  • Encourage pupils to develop independence, resilience and confidence as they prepare for secondary school.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.

  • Experienced working within a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 2.

  • Confident supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

  • Patient, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • An excellent communicator with strong organisational skills.

  • Able to commit to a full-time, long-term role.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Current Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration as a Teaching Assistant (or willingness to obtain this).

  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

If you don't currently hold an Enhanced DBS or EWC registration, Teaching Personnel can support you through the application process (fees may apply).

  • Competitive weekly pay.

  • A dedicated Primary Education Consultant to support you throughout your placement.

  • Access to free CPD and professional development opportunities.

  • £50 referral bonus for every successful educator you recommend.

  • Access to our easy-to-use app for managing bookings, timesheets and payslips.

If you're an enthusiastic Year 6 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact during pupils' final year of primary education, we'd love to hear from you.
