Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Blackpool (FY3). This is a full-time position within a Year 5 classroom, with a planned start date of January 2027, although there is the opportunity for the successful candidate to start sooner for the right fit.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or an individual looking to further develop their career within primary education.

Working closely with the Year 5 class teacher, you will support pupils both academically and pastorally, helping to create an engaging and positive learning environment where all children can thrive.

  • Provide classroom support to the Year 5 teacher during lessons.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small-group support.
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs to access the curriculum.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Has previous experience working with primary-aged children.
  • Is confident supporting learning across Key Stage 2.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is patient, nurturing and adaptable.
  • Can work effectively as part of a wider school team.
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • A welcoming and inclusive school community.
  • Supportive leadership and experienced staff.
  • Well-behaved and enthusiastic pupils.
  • Opportunities for training and professional development.
  • The potential for a long-term role within the school.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Two professional references covering the previous two years.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
