Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs?

Teaching Personnel is urgently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to join a specialist education setting in the Wimborne area from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional who wants to make a meaningful difference by supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop independence and achieve their personal goals.

This permanent, full-time position includes a fantastic £1,000 sign-on bonus and offers the opportunity to become a valued member of a supportive specialist education team.

 

This role is based within a specialist setting supporting students from 11 years old through to post-16 education and young adults up to the age of 25.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with SEND, helping them access education, develop key life skills and overcome barriers to learning.

Working closely with teachers and the wider support team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs and individual learning requirements
  • Providing classroom support and assisting with personalised learning activities
  • Helping students develop confidence, communication skills and independence
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Supporting emotional regulation, social development and engagement
  • Encouraging participation in learning and daily activities
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other professionals
  • Helping to create a safe, structured and inclusive environment for all learners.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant who has previous experience supporting students with SEND and can confidently step into the role ready to make an immediate impact.
