Teaching Personnel is recruiting experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support students within a range of mainstream secondary schools across Blackburn, Lancashire from September 2026.

We have a variety of long-term and short-term opportunities available, making this an excellent opportunity for passionate education professionals looking to develop their experience within secondary school settings.

The Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 both in and out of the classroom.
  • Work alongside teachers to promote engagement, progress and achievement.
  • Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups.
  • Assist with classroom management and learning activities.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

To be considered, applicants must have relevant experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, mentoring or support setting.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable).
  • Have experience supporting secondary-aged students.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Are adaptable, proactive and committed to improving student outcomes.
