Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a welcoming primary school? We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Blackburn for the Autumn Term 2026.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Classroom Assistants, or individuals with experience supporting children and young people. You will play a key role in helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while supporting teachers to deliver engaging lessons.

  • Support pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
  • Support children with varying learning abilities and needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Prepare learning resources and classroom materials.
  • Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and participation.
  • Previous experience working with children.
  • Experience within a school setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • Passion for supporting children's education and development.
