A specialist school in Salisbury is expanding its provision with the opening of four new classrooms and is looking to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join its team from September.
The school supports children and young people aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and a range of associated learning, communication, and behavioural challenges. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and rewarding environment where every day brings the chance to make a meaningful difference in a young person's life.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work across the school, supporting pupils of varying ages and abilities. You will play a vital role in helping students access learning, develop confidence, regulate emotions, and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
The role requires individuals who can build strong, trusting relationships with young people, remain calm under pressure, and provide consistent support to students who may present with challenging behaviours or complex needs.
No two days are the same, and flexibility is essential. You may support students within the classroom, during interventions, on educational activities, or through moments of emotional dysregulation where patience and understanding are key.
Previous school-based experience is advantageous but not essential. We are keen to hear from individuals who have experience working with children or young people in a variety of settings and who can bring transferable skills to the role.
