Are you someone who cares deeply about supporting young people in the community, especially those who may need extra support to reach their potential? Have you ever felt disheartened by the focus on exams and school inspections? Or perhaps you're a recent graduate looking to gain transferable skills in a supportive environment?

If any of this resonates with you, you might be surprised to know that you don't need specific training or experience to become a teaching assistant. Schools value individuals with qualities like empathy, patience, a calm demeanour, and resilience, as well as a genuine passion for helping others. Teaching assistants come from various backgrounds, including:

•            Recent graduates, especially those with degrees in fields like art, drama, psychology, or criminology

•            Youth leaders

•            Support workers

•            Babysitters and caregivers

•            Sports coaches

We're currently looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a diverse and dynamic secondary school in South Bristol. This role will provide challenge and reward in equal measure to individuals willing to throw themselves in and develop both personally and professionally. The children at this school come from a variety of backgrounds and face a range of barriers to learning, including special educational needs and disabilities, trauma, and language barriers, sometimes resulting in challenging behaviours. However, forming bonds with them can lead to life-changing experiences, making this job incredibly fulfilling. If you also believe that every child has the right to learn and succeed, regardless of their starting point, then this may be the role for you.

Here are some important details about the position:
