Teaching Assistant

Location: Woking, Surrey

Job Description: We are looking for passionate and committed Teaching Assistants to support teaching and learning in our primary and secondary schools across Woking. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide additional support to students, both in the classroom and on a one-to-one basis, helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, adapting activities to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students who require additional assistance with their learning.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support, promoting positive behavior and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL), helping them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other members of the school community to assess student progress and develop individualized support plans.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their educational and personal development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
