Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a teaching assistant to work on a part time basis in a school based in the centre of Cardiff. The role will consist of working 3-4 days a week, supporting a class in Key Stage 2. The successful teaching assistant will be on hand to provide continuous support to the teacher and children in the class and contribute to the positive school environment. There may be instances working with children who require additional support on a 1:1 basis. Adaptability will be required to ensure the children are progressing and developing as expected throughout the year. Good subject knowledge in Maths and English will also be required to support the children with their learning day to day. You will also be required to complete interventions with small groups of children; therefore behaviour management, confidence and good communication skills will be essential in the role.

Teaching Assistant Duties:

  • Working with children on a 1:1 basis who require additional support with their learning
  • Completing intervention work with small groups of children
  • Preparing resources ready for lessons
  • Providing continuous support to the teacher and children in the class

Recruitment Criteria:

  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (Teaching Personnel can help with this!).
  • Registered to the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Be able to provide references
  • Experience personally or in a working environment with children (desirable).

The school is based in the centre of Cardiff and is a two form entry. The school are looking for an individual with experience working with children in a professional setting. The ideal candidate will need to be enthusiastic and reliable, with the ability to create good relationships with the staff, parents and children at the school.
