Position: General Classroom Teaching Assistant

Location: Leyland

Start date: Monday 3rd June 2024

Contract type: Full-time, temp-perm

A secondary school in Leyland are looking to appoint a general classroom Teaching Assistant, who preferably has experience up to KS4, to start following the May half-term. This position is a temp-perm opportunity, should the candidate complete a successful probationary period.

You will report to the school SENCo and join an experienced, skillful and well-resourced team of HLTAs and TAs who work collaboratively across the department and put the needs of the pupils at the heart of everything they do.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • KS3/KS4 Teaching Assistant
  • SEND/SEMH experience; ASC, ADHD and challenging behaviour preferable
  • General classroom support to the classroom teacher
  • Assisting with the preparation of classroom activities, displays and before/after-school clubs
  • Completing 1:1, 2:1 and small group intervention sessions, predominantly in English, Maths and Science
  • Attending department meetings, CPD training, parents evenings etc.
