We are supporting a specialist provision to find a Teaching Assistant to work within their school.

The school is a setting that acters for young people aged 11-16 with SEMH such as anxiety, attachment issues and moderate learning difficulties. The school has a warm atmosphere and a friendly and welcoming staff who will be on hand to support you as you get used to your new role.

Your role would be to work with the teacher and other staff members to ensure a safe learning environment, where children are well supported, and behaviour managed to progress in their academic and social development.

You may also be responsible for taking small groups of young people to off site settings such as sports fields, swimming pools and other similar settings.

The ideal Teaching Assistant for this role would be someone who has:

  • Experience of working with mental health needs or challenging behaviour
  • Someone who can take responsibility for young people
  • A fun and engaging personality
  • Previous experience of supporting children is also desirable.

Those who are graduates of a relevant subject such as Youth Work, Psychology, Criminology or education are highly encouraged to apply.

The role would be full time with a start as soon as possible.

Hours would be 08:30-15:30 and based in north Stockport close to central Manchester
