Primary School Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit both full time and part time teaching assistants to support the schools we work with in Wisbech and the surrounding areas.

The roles on offer vary from 1-2 days a week up to 5 days, with working hours being 8:30 – 15:30.

About You:

  • Have previous experience working as a TA, or supporting children in a similar setting, such as in a nursery or as a tutor.
  • Be patient and personable.
  • Be adaptable, willing to help wherever needed, and not afraid of a challenge.
  • Be a UK based resident with valid right to work.
  • Have a child only enhanced DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

Typical TA Duties can include:

  • Working with students who need additional support either on 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Motivating and inspiring children to learn and participate in classroom activities
  • Contribute to record-keeping by recording observations of pupils during the school day
  • Support the teacher with general classroom and behaviour management
  • Prepare lesson resources
  • Help to keep the classroom clean and tidy
