Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work closely with SEND pupils in a mainstream Primary setting. The needs of the children are still under diagnosis, however if you have worked with SEND children and have a nurturing and calm character this role would be ideal for you.

The Role:

The role is to start as soon as possible, for the full academic year. You will support the pupil within the classroom, encouraging them to take part in activities and also helping to break down barriers to accessing the curriculum. You will be working closely with the SENCO in ensuring a set and plan is in place for the pupil, reviewing this regularly. Consistency and reliability are essential to ensure the child can build a trusting relationships and find a comfortable school environment. Placements will be reviewed throughout the year.

• Hold a minimum of a Level 2 TA qualification OR experience working within a care background
• Experience working with Children
• Calm, confident and proactive attitude required with the ability to use own initiative in difficult situations
• Available for at least 3 days per week
• Hold a Child Only DBS accessible on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
