An alternative provision in Manchester is looking for a teaching assistant to take on a full-time support role. Within this role, you will be working with secondary aged students who are currently out of mainstream schooling for a variety of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Your role will be to work with them on vocational courses to ensure that they are focused and have any extra support that they may need.

Part of this role will involve driving some of the students to either follow points within their EHCP, or to do education related activities that are off the school site.

As an applicant for this role, you should:

  • Hold a full UK driving license and a car.
  • Be comfortable driving students to sites other than the school site.
  • Have business insurance on your car (this can be applied for)
  • Have previous experience with SEMH students or challenging behaviour.
  • Be able to help students with work in various topics.

This is a full-time role, so you must be available Monday to Friday for full school hours. There will not be an option for reduced hours or a part-time role. Driving within this role is necessary to fulfil all needs of the students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
