I am recruiting a Teaching Asistsant for a vibrant and inclusive educational institution dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced teaching staff to provide tailored support and guidance to students with SEN. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and contribute to their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to engage with learning activities and develop essential skills.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and adapting learning materials as needed.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to assess student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or queries.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity within the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Additional qualifications or training in SEN support (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3) would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
