We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Leeds, West Yorkshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students in our educational institution. This is a full-time permanent position, and you will be expected to work regular hours.

  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and implementing educational activities.
  • Provide support to students with their learning, including individual or group assistance.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during class, breaks, and other activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Support students with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate with the teaching staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining student records and organising classroom materials.
  • A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required for this role.

Prior experience working with children or young people is essential.

  • Understanding of child development and learning processes.
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques.
  • Proficient in using educational technology and resources.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • First Aid certification.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will primarily work within a classroom setting in our educational institution. You may also be required to accompany students on trips or outings. The role involves regular interaction with students, teachers, and parents. You may need to adapt to the diverse needs of students and occasionally handle challenging behaviours. The working hours are full-time, and you will be entitled to the appropriate breaks and holidays as per the institution's policies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
